This Book by Katya Balen blew us away. We started reading it in the morning and didn’t stop until we’d finished it. So beautifully written, heartbreakingly tender and moving. This book is a book filled with Autumn, on the hinge of seasons where everything is about to change. The smell of woodsmoke and crips Autumn mornings can be found in every page. Katya Balen’s previous book, The Space We’re In, was exceptional and with this next book she is better than ever. It’s about childhood, nature, growing up, finding your own space, learning to forgive and ultimately celebrating somethign in the human spirit that gives hope to us all. Beautiful illustrations by Angela Harding making it a very special book.
